KINGS COUNTY, Calif. A Kings County man has been sentenced to 120 years to life in state prison after being convicted of multiple felony offenses involving two young children.
According to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, 54-year-old Carlos Yanez Cavazos of Stratford was sentenced on July 2 in Kings County Superior Court following his convictions in April.
Prosecutors said the case involved a 4-year-old child and her 5-year-old sister. The offenses took place between late 2024 and early 2025.
Following a weeklong trial, a jury found Cavazos guilty of two counts of sexual penetration with a child 10 years of age or younger, three counts of oral copulation with a child 10 years of age or younger, and three counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14.
The jury also found true special allegations that the offenses involved multiple victims and that the victims were particularly vulnerable.
Based on the jury’s verdict and findings, the court sentenced Cavazos to 120 years to life in prison.
The Kings County District Attorney’s Office announced the sentencing, concluding the prosecution of the case in Kings County Superior Court.
