LEMOORE, CA — The Lemoore Police Department has released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year marked by declining traffic collisions, steady crime response, and major investments in technology, training, and community policing.
According to the report, the department handled 35,513 calls for service in 2025, a slight decrease of about 3 percent compared to the previous year, signaling a modest reduction in demand for police response.
Traffic Safety Improves While Enforcement Remains Strong
One of the most notable trends in the report is a continued drop in traffic collisions, which officials attribute to proactive enforcement and increased visibility on city streets.
In 2025, officers issued 1,122 traffic citations, responded to 66 traffic accidents, and made 165 DUI arrests, reflecting ongoing efforts to improve roadway safety.
Crime Trends Show Mixed but Controlled Activity
Crime statistics show a combination of declines and stabilization across several categories. The report indicates:
- 1 homicide in 2025
- 321 assault cases
- 204 larceny cases
- 39 auto thefts
- 38 burglaries
- 8 robberies
Felony cases dropped to 593, continuing a downward trend from previous years, while misdemeanor cases totaled 1,222.
The Investigations Division handled 315 cases, including serious crimes such as attempted homicide, arson, and child exploitation cases, often working alongside regional agencies.
Major Investment in Dispatch and Technology
A key development in 2025 was the creation of a new in-house dispatch center, fully equipped with updated radios, monitors, and communication systems. Officials say the move will improve response times, strengthen coordination, and reduce long-term costs by eliminating outsourced services.
The department also expanded its use of technology, including drones and upgraded radio systems, while logging 83.3 flight hours through its air support partnership and responding to 873 aerial service calls countywide.
Training and Tactical Readiness Surge
Training hours saw a dramatic increase, with officers completing 4,745 hours of training in 2025, an 87 percent jump from the previous year.
Officers also underwent advanced firearms training, active shooter simulations, and new optic-based weapon systems to improve response capabilities in high-risk situations.
Community Policing and Youth Engagement Expand
The department continued to emphasize community partnerships through programs such as school-based officers, youth development initiatives, and public outreach events. Officers are now assigned across multiple campuses, working directly with students and staff to prevent crime and build relationships.
Community Service Officers also played a key role, handling 4,053 calls for service, assisting with animal control, code enforcement, and neighborhood issues.
Specialized Units Play Critical Role
Specialized teams remained active throughout the year:
- The K-9 unit contributed to numerous arrests and narcotics detections
- The SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to high-risk incidents across the region
- The Problem Oriented Policing team focused on long-term neighborhood issues and crime prevention
Meanwhile, the department processed over 20,000 pieces of evidence, underscoring the scale and complexity of investigations handled throughout the year.
A Focus on Trust and Community
In a message included in the report, department leadership emphasized that building trust and maintaining strong community partnerships remain central to their mission.
Officials say the data reflects a department focused not just on enforcement, but on prevention, collaboration, and long-term public safety improvements across the City of Lemoore.
