HANFORD, Calif.
Hanford Police have arrested a man accused of firing multiple rounds at a downtown bar earlier this year, an incident that left a security guard injured and rattled the local nightlife district.

According to the Hanford Police Department, officers first responded to the Sequoia Club at 118 N. Irwin Street on October 3, 2025, after reports of shots fired. Investigators say a man who had been asked to leave the bar fired several rounds into the air while leaving the area.

Authorities say the same suspect returned to the Sequoia Club months later on February 14, 2026. Staff removed him from the business due to his involvement in the earlier incident. Shortly after leaving, the man allegedly came back and opened fire toward the bar, firing about ten rounds.

Police say the gunfire struck the building and several nearby vehicles. A security guard was hit by gunfire and transported to Kaweah Health in Visalia for treatment.

Following the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 23 year old Desmond Andrews.

On March 13, 2026, investigators located Andrews at a residence in the 1400 block of 9¼ Avenue in Hanford. The Hanford Regional SWAT Team served a warrant at the home, where Andrews was taken into custody without incident. Police also seized a vehicle believed to have been used in both the October and February shootings.
