Hanford Police arrested a 28-year-old suspect Sunday morning after a strong-armed robbery that occurred on June 22, 2025, outside the Wells Fargo Bank at 200 West Seventh Street.

According to authorities, the incident took place at approximately 8:36 a.m. on June 22 when a male suspect approached a victim outside the bank and asked for money. Moments later, the suspect forcibly grabbed the victim’s wallet before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.

Shortly after responding to the call, officers located the stolen wallet near the BMO Bank just down the street. The wallet contained all personal items but was missing the cash.

Investigators then learned that Amtrak Police had encountered a male at the Hanford station earlier that morning who appeared upset after being unable to pay a bicycle transportation fee. That same individual returned a short time later with cash and paid the fee.

Hanford Police responded to the station and contacted Devon Deyarmond, 28, who matched the suspect’s description. Due to inconsistencies in Deyarmond’s account and his sudden possession of money, officers conducted an in-field identification with the robbery victim, who confirmed Deyarmond as the perpetrator. Deyarmond attempted to flee on his bicycle but was apprehended without further incident.

He was booked into Kings County Jail on a robbery charge under PC 211. The case will be forwarded to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Hanford Police at 559-585-2535, referencing case number H2502457.
