Hanford, CA — A 17-year-old male was arrested Friday after Hanford Police investigators uncovered evidence that he had been manufacturing firearm components using 3D printing technology. The incident took place at Casa del Sol Apartments, located at 12196 West Hanford-Armona Road.
According to the Hanford Police Department, the arrest followed the execution of a search warrant at approximately 2:18 p.m. on June 21, conducted by the departments Street Crimes Unit with the assistance of patrol officers.
Investigators reported finding materials and equipment for the 3D printing of firearm parts as well as manufactured firearm components and ammunition for various calibers inside the apartment.
The juvenile was taken into custody and booked into the Kings County Juvenile Center on multiple charges under Penal Code 30305(a)(1), which prohibits restricted persons, including juveniles, from possessing firearm parts or ammunition.
