HANFORD, CA – Authorities have identified the victim in the early morning homicide on March 23 as 25-year-old Sully Elizabeth CortezNeri of Los Banos.
Hanford Police officers initially responded at approximately 3:35 a.m. to the 500 block of Northstar Drive following reports of a male and female involved in an argument that may have escalated into a physical altercation. Shortly after, dispatch received reports of gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, officers located CortezNeri in the roadway suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was transported to Adventist Health Hanford, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives secured the scene and located evidence indicating a struggle and shooting. Since then, investigators have interviewed CortezNeri’s family in Los Banos to gather information about her recent movements.
At this time, detectives are working to determine why CortezNeri was in Hanford and who she may have been with prior to the shooting. No suspects have been arrested, and the investigation remains ongoing.
