One thing I’ve always believed is that leadership doesn’t end when you leave office. Leadership is about continuing to serve your community, creating opportunities, and helping others succeed.

During my time as Mayor of Hanford, I had the privilege of working alongside many people to help move our community forward. Together, we helped bring projects like Costco, Hobby Lobby, Dunkin’, Buffalo Wild Wings, and many other businesses to our community. We also invested in infrastructure improvements that supported future growth and helped create community traditions like Winter Wonderland, which continues to bring families together each year.

Although I’m no longer in office, my commitment to our community has never changed.

I’ve always believed in bringing innovation to our community and finding creative ways to create opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs. I don’t believe we should wait for opportunities to come to us. Sometimes we have to help create them.

Recently, I spent more than two hours meeting with the new owners of the former transit station to share an idea and a vision that I believed could transform an underutilized property into something that would benefit our entire community.

I shared my vision of turning the former transit station into a destination where local entrepreneurs could launch or grow their businesses, where families could gather, and where residents could enjoy great local food and shopping in one location.

They embraced the vision. After hearing the idea, they said, “You know what? We like your vision. Let’s make it happen.”

The Junction is a new vision for the former bus transit station, transforming an underutilized property into a destination where people can eat, shop, work, and connect.

• Exposure to customers visiting The Junction

Saturday Marketplace

Every Saturday, The Junction will host a community marketplace featuring approximately 10 to 20 local vendors.

Vendor Space: $50 per Saturday

The marketplace will provide another affordable opportunity for local artisans, makers, retailers, nonprofits, and small businesses to showcase their products while creating an exciting weekend destination for families and visitors.
