Ethics Policy

Kings Network News (KNN)

At Kings Network News, we believe journalism must be rooted in ethics, fairness, and responsibility to the public. Our ethical standards guide every decision we make—from what stories we cover to how we report them.

This Ethics Policy outlines our newsroom values and the expectations we hold for every journalist and contributor working with KNN.

1. Editorial Independence

KNN maintains full editorial independence from advertisers, sponsors, and political entities. No individual or organization outside of our editorial team has influence over our news coverage, headlines, or publishing decisions.

2. Accuracy and Fairness

We are committed to reporting the truth with accuracy, balance, and context. All facts are verified before publication, and we aim to present multiple perspectives when covering controversial or sensitive issues.

3. Honesty in Reporting

Our reporters never misrepresent themselves, fabricate quotes, or alter images. We do not pay sources for information, and we clearly distinguish between original reporting and aggregated content.

4. Conflicts of Interest

All KNN journalists and contributors are required to disclose any personal or financial interests that could compromise objectivity. Individuals must recuse themselves from covering topics where a conflict exists.

5. Respect for Privacy and Dignity

We take special care when reporting on vulnerable individuals or communities. We seek consent whenever possible, especially when publishing photos or personal details that could cause harm or unwanted attention.

6. Use of Anonymous Sources

Anonymous sources are only used when the information is critical to the public interest and the source’s safety or privacy is at risk. When anonymity is granted, editors must approve the use and verify the credibility of the source.

7. Distinction Between News and Opinion

We clearly separate objective news reporting from opinion, commentary, and sponsored content. All opinion articles are labeled accordingly, and opinions do not influence the tone or facts in our news coverage.

8. Corrections and Accountability

When mistakes happen, we correct them transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy. We also welcome reader feedback and review concerns in a timely and fair manner.

9. Inclusion and Representation

We strive to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve in our coverage, sourcing, and hiring. All individuals are treated with fairness and respect, regardless of background, belief, or status.

10. Commitment to Continuous Ethics Training

KNN provides ongoing guidance and training to all team members on ethical practices, digital publishing standards, and emerging challenges in modern journalism.
