Kings County is mourning the loss of 19-year-old Emily Carpenter, a beloved local advocate and Miss Kings County 2025, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Crowned just weeks before her passing, Emily’s reign was a testament to resilience. Diagnosed with cancer in the fourth grade, she faced the disease four times but remained committed to helping others. She founded Golden Positivity, a nonprofit supporting children with cancer, and became a beacon of hope in her community.
“Her role as MKC may have been short, but she’s now a part of Kings County’s history,” said Faith Faria. “She changed lives and the way you viewed life.”
Emily’s legacy has inspired an outpouring of tributes describing her as “a queen with a heart of gold” and “a once-in-a-lifetime soul.” Her efforts, both on and off stage, touched countless lives.
Family friend Bernadette Gomes shared, “You fought long and hard. Your legacy will live on. You made a difference in this world, Em.”
To honor her memory, Frontier Elementary School—where Emily’s journey began—will host a Jog-A-Thon fundraiser on May 2. Proceeds will benefit Golden Positivity. Community members can donate by contacting frontierptc@gmail.com.
Emily Carpenter’s impact endures through every child helped by her nonprofit, every life inspired by her strength, and every heart she touched with her light.
