HANFORD, CA – A 34-year-old convicted felon was arrested Friday morning after Hanford Police officers discovered he was carrying a firearm and drugs during a routine patrol in the city’s industrial area.

At approximately 9 a.m. on August 1, officers approached a group loitering near Smith Welding and Machine on the 100 block of South 10th Avenue. One of the individuals was identified as Eric Alexander, who has a prior record involving firearm-related offenses.

During the encounter, police found Alexander in possession of a firearm, ammunition, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Kings County Jail.

Charges against Alexander include:

  • Felon in possession of a firearm (Penal Code 29800(a)(1)) – Felony

  • Felon in possession of ammunition (Penal Code 30305(a)(1)) – Felony

  • Possession of a controlled substance (Health & Safety Code 11377(a))

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (Health & Safety Code 11364(a))
