A 21-year-old Fresno man, Manuel Gonzalez Coronado, was allegedly attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl for a sexual encounter last week at Hidden Valley Park in Hanford, according to the Hanford Police Department.

The incident occurred on June 10, 2025, around 4:24 PM, after officers were alerted by a civilian group known for conducting independent sting operations against individuals suspected of child exploitation. The group had allegedly arranged the meeting with Coronado and immediately contacted authorities when he arrived at the park.

Upon arrival, officers interviewed Coronado, who allegedly admitted he knew the girl was a minor and that he had brought sexual protection with him. He was arrested without incident and booked into Kings County Jail. He faces a felony charge under California Penal Code 288.3, which involves contacting a minor with intent to commit a felony.

While police acknowledged the public’s role in helping expose potential child predators, they also cautioned vigilante groups to act lawfully and prioritize safety.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Hanford Police Department at (559) 585-2540.
